Joseth Ishman

Joseth Ishman, a trailblazing IT professional with over 25 years of experience. A graduate of the New York Institute of Technology, Joseth holds a bachelor's degree in computer science. With an impressive seven years of C-suite experience, she has made history as the first woman of color to hold the highly esteemed position as Deputy Chief Information Officer and Chief Information Security Officer at the Office of New City Comptroller.
In her previous role as Deputy Chief Information Officer, she oversaw a team of 16 and managed IT Operations, Network Services, Service Desk and Telecommunications units. Under her leadership and guidance, she was responsible for the organization's technology platform and ensured its regulatory and operational compliance.
In addition, Joseth was the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), under her leadership and direction, she ensured the organization's intellectual property were protected, and cyber security policies implemented and enforced according to CISA standards.
At the onset of COVID-19 global pandemic, Joseth oversaw the entire transition to telework for over 750 personnel. She served as the leading strategist and driver on key technical decisions while implementing best practices to maintain the organization's security policies, procedures and Charter Mandate requirements in conjunction with Citywide protocols.
Prior to joining the Office of New City Comptroller, Joseth served as a computer educator and corporate trainer at Catapult, an IBM subsidiary and later expanded her technical expertise as one of the leading trainers at IBM. In addition, she served as an Adjunct Professor at LaGuardia Community College, Continuing Education Department where she taught courses on Office Automation.
Joseth's diverse experience and her commitment to educating the masses, represents the embodiment of resilience, dedication, and excellence which has become a benchmark solidifying her reputation as an industry leader and innovator.
